U.S. Customs Update: Removal of IEEPA Tariffs
Effective February 24, 2026, the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled to discontinue tariffs previously imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). As a result, the U.S. administration ended the collection of IEEPA‑based tariffs. However, it introduced a new temporary 10% import tariff under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, applicable to all imported goods regardless of their value or country of origin. This tariff will remain in effect until 24th July, 2026.
Previous Duty Structure for products entering the USA from India:
50% (25% IEEPA Reciprocal Duty + Additional 25% Duty)
Updated Duty Structure (Effective 24th Feb, 2026):
10% Temporary Duty (until 24th July, 2026)
Breakdown of Duties Applicable:
The General Duty Rate based on the applicable HSN code will continue to apply.
Total duty payable may include:
- General Duty Rate (as per HSN classification)
- Section 122 temporary import tariff of 10% (until July 24, 2026)
- Section 232 duties*
*Under Section 232, products made of steel, aluminium, copper, and certain related derivatives are subject to 50% tariffs.
Reviews
I bought 2 T shirts for my kids. The fabric and colour is great. The material is soft and comfortable for the kids and is perfectly fine after washing as well. It will not shrink after washing and the long sleeves protect the kids from scraping their hands while playing and crawling etc. Great cotton T shirts for the kids all year round. !!
